Window Replacement for the Bay Area

Reliable, Energy-Efficient New Windows & Doors

Window problems can accumulate. The problem may start with a small draft in winter, a stubborn lock, or a faded frame that no longer matches the rest of your house, making it look shabby. When this happens, replacing the windows can make a real difference.

Roxy Glass has been working with local homes and businesses for many years. Our work is evident in neighborhoods across the area, from city homes to suburban properties. What we offer is simple: strong, well-fitted windows that look great, suit your space, and last for years. Newly installed modern windows should save on energy costs, reduce street noise, and keep the weather outside where it belongs.

How Roxy Glass Compares to Other Window Suppliers

Replacement window installation is a significant investment in both time and money. Still, it pays great dividends in terms of improved curb appeal, enhanced property value, increased indoor comfort, and reduced energy costs.

The glass company you choose for your project is important, and if you’re wondering how Roxy Glass compares to other window suppliers, consider this:

  • Roxy Glass offers high-quality vinyl windows at approximately 50% of the cost of the heavily advertised brands, and our windows look and perform beautifully, and last just as long.
  • Heavily advertised brands’ windows usually don’t allow for simple glass replacement when a window pane breaks. Instead, they require that you replace the entire window, which is far more expensive. Be sure to check with Roxy Glass when considering window replacement.

Why Window Replacement Could Be the Best Thing You Can Do for Your Home

Some upgrades make a space look better. Others make it feel more comfortable. A window replacement does both, and the impact is almost immediately evident. When old windows start to deteriorate, they don’t maintain indoor temperatures as they should. Heat escapes in winter, cool air leaks out in summer, and utility bills continue to climb.

New windows create balance. Rooms feel more comfortable, even on the hottest or coldest days. Outside noise fades. Light enters more brightly, creating clearer views of the surrounding landscapes. Your home feels settled, more efficient, more secure, and more tranquil. It’s money well spent.

Then, there’s the value: energy-efficient upgrades are among the smartest ways to boost a property’s appeal. They stand out in resale listings, giving your home a sense of renewal and bringing down long-term maintenance costs. Those not planning to sell anytime soon will enjoy the benefits of everyday comforts and energy savings.

For many homeowners, replacing windows is less about fixing a problem and more about improving the family lifestyle.

Custom Window Replacements in the Bay Area

Every home has its own rhythm, the way it catches the light, opens to fresh air, and holds its warmth on cold winter’s days, so window replacement isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. The windows you choose must complement your space, not detract from it. Here’s how we can make that happen.

Choosing New Windows

We offer a huge variety of styles to suit your home, lifestyle, and budget, and we’ll help you to choose the best for your home or business. Most homeowners install vinyl windows in their homes, while commercial property owners often prefer aluminum.

Vinyl Replacement Windows

Single hung vs double hung windows

Single-Hung Windows are leading vinyl products in the Roxy Glass vinyl window collection. Single-hung windows gently glide vertically to open and close, providing ample ventilation in the home. These windows feature a fixed upper sash with a moving lower section. Easily clean and maintain these windows by removing the vent sash. Remove the vent sash for cleaning and maintenance. Choose from single and double panes. We also provide specialty glass for single-hung windows.

All Roxy Glass window frames are multi-chamber, steel reinforced, and fully welded. The sash has standard ¾” dual glass panes. These windows are strong and built to last with few moving parts.

We also offer aluminum frames in various window and door styles for commercial and residential purposes.

Double-hung windows look like single-hung windows and share similar features, but both the top and bottom sashes open on the double-hung option. Double-hung windows cost a little more because they have more moving parts than single-hung alternatives.

Horizontal Sliding Windows

Horizontal sliding windows share several similarities with single-hung designs, but rather than moving up and down, the sash slides side to side. These user-friendly windows are favored for their convenience and ability to open wide, inviting in plenty of fresh air. Their large glass panels also allow abundant natural light to fill the space.

Built with high-quality, adjustable tandem rollers, these windows are designed to glide effortlessly for long-lasting performance. Added anti-lift features provide an extra layer of home security.

Choose from single- or double-glazed panes. Each window features a fully welded sash and frame, which is steel-reinforced and boasts a multi-chambered design for enhanced strength and durability.

Picture & Acrylic Block Windows

Choose picture windows or acrylic block windows when you want natural light but don’t need ventilation. These windows also work well in spaces that are hard to reach. Use picture or acrylic block windows to brighten up any room and frame an attractive outdoor view. A picture window adds a distinctive touch to the room, enhancing the character of your home.

If the outside view isn’t ideal, consider the Roxy Glass acrylic block windows. They let in plenty of light while offering privacy by obscuring what’s outside.

Full, Half, or Quarter Windows

For something a little different, consider a charming, fixed window in an unusual geometric pattern.

Casement / Awning Windows

Bring character and charm to your home with a casement or awning window. Casement windows swing outward from the side, while awning windows open upward from the bottom. Both window types provide good airflow and fresh air circulation.

Casement windows feature an easy-to-use crank handle, while awning versions use a shaft-style opener. Designed with safety in mind, each includes a multi-point locking system and a durable fiber mesh screen for added protection.

Garden Windows

Created with plant lovers in mind, a garden window adds a subtle touch of warmth and charm to your home. It’s a wonderful choice for kitchens, creating a small sunlit space that supports the growth of herbs, flowers, and other greenery.

The built-in solar chamber allows the right amount of sunlight to nurture your plants, making it an ideal indoor spot for a mini garden all year round.

Aluminum Replacement Windows

Is aluminum a good option for replacement windows? Making wise choices starts with understanding the facts. Aluminum replacement windows have both benefits and drawbacks.

Aluminum replacement windows

Material Overview

Vinyl
Affordable and easy to care for, vinyl windows won’t warp, peel, or need repainting. They’re energy-efficient and deliver solid long-term value.

Aluminum
With a sleek frame and modern aesthetic, aluminum windows are ideal for contemporary homes or commercial spaces where both strength and style matter.

With a wide variety of materials and expert guidance at every step, your replacement windows will be carefully selected and installed to ensure maximum comfort, durability, and performance.

Advantages of Aluminum Windows

Low Maintenance:
Aluminum windows require less maintenance than those made of wood, vinyl, or fiberglass. Many come with anodized or powder coatings, making them more durable and resistant to scratches. Still, if your property is near the coast, you should consider the possibility of corrosion from salt exposure.

Strong Yet Lightweight
Aluminum is both sturdy and lightweight, making it easier to install. It’s a tough material that generally lasts longer than vinyl or wood options.

Design Flexibility
Thanks to its ease of manufacturing, aluminum is ideal for custom windows with distinctive shapes. The slim profile also means less frame and more glass, ensuring the best possible views.

Cost-Effective
In many cases, aluminum windows are more budget-friendly than wood, vinyl, or fiberglass alternatives.

Disadvantages of Aluminum Windows

Poor Insulation
Aluminum doesn’t naturally retain heat well, so it may need extra thermal breaks or weather-stripping to improve energy efficiency.

Condensation Issues
It’s not uncommon for moisture or frost to build up inside aluminum windows. This can often be addressed by incorporating non-conductive spacers between panes.

Your window material influences everything from the amount of upkeep required to how your home looks and feels, as well as the installed cost. We’re here to help you choose the best solution for your lifestyle and budget.

How It Works – Our Window Replacement Process

Every project begins with a scheduled visit. A skilled technician will take detailed measurements to determine the required window sizes and discuss the windows that best suit your home’s design. This is an opportunity to leverage our expertise and select the best quality materials, design, and performance features that suit your home and budget.

After you’ve made your choices, we’ll prepare a comprehensive quote outlining the cost, timeline, and installation process. Every unit is custom-sized before it is ordered to ensure the best fit and appearance. If you’re happy with the cost, we’ll set an installation date that suits your plans.

Trained professionals will complete the installation, with most jobs taking one to two days to complete. The team arrives on time, protects the work area, and carefully installs each window. All frames are aligned, sealed, and finished cleanly.

Before leaving, we inspect and test each window. We check the locks, hardware, glass, and fit. The area is thoroughly cleaned, and the final walkthrough ensures that you’re satisfied with the result.

Real Benefits You’ll Immediately Notice

Replacing your windows brings more than a new look. It changes how your home performs, how it feels throughout the day, and how it holds up in every season.

  • Temperatures are more balanced and comfortable.

Warranties & Guarantees That Give You Peace of Mind

Good work should last. And when it comes to windows, that includes the product and the installation.

Each glass unit and frame has a lifetime warranty. Labor is also backed by a one- to five-year warranty, depending on the job. Our guarantees come standard with every installation.

Our windows meet the California energy standards and local codes. They’re tested for insulation, seal, and strength as part of every install.

You won’t have to figure it out on your own. The warranty is clearly written, and the service is carried out with that same clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Look at the frame rather than the glass. Open and close the window. If it moves freely, closes fully, locks properly, and the frame feels solid, then whatever is wrong is a glass problem. You need glass, not a window. If the frame is rotted, rusted, bent, swollen or the window no longer seals or operates, then new glass would go into a failed frame, and a replacement window is the right call.

A retrofit window fits into your existing frame. It is quicker, less disruptive and does not disturb the stucco, siding or interior trim. However, it does reduce the glass area slightly because the new frame fits into the old frame. Full frame replacement removes the old frame, so you’re left with the rough opening. A frame replacement allows for the inspection and repair of the wall around the window. It keeps the full glass area, but it costs more.

It can, but the glass structure matters more than having two panes. Laminated glass has a plastic interlayer bonded between two sheets, and is markedly better at damping sound than a standard sealed unit. Differing pane thicknesses within a unit can also help to reduce internal noise. If noise is your main reason for replacing windows, tell us at the estimate stage so we can specify the best noise-damping glass.

Your city or county building department sets the requirements, and these differ across the Bay Area. The building requirements treat like-for-like retrofit replacement differently from changing the size of an opening, and the historic districts add their own review. We will let you know when permitting or design review is likely to apply to your property. You can then check with your local building department before scheduling work.

The window fitting is usually the shortest part of the operation. We order replacement windows according to the measurements, so the lead time between the measuring visit and the installation sets the overall timing. Custom sizes, wood frames and special glass extend the lead time. We’ll give you the expected timing with the estimate once we know what to specify.

Yes. There is no requirement to do a whole property at once. Where windows are grouped and visible from the street, it is worth considering the appearance of a few new units beside the older ones. We will point that out. Replacing the worst windows first is a perfectly reasonable way to stage the work and spread the cost.
